When and where can I pick up my packet?

Participants can pick up their packets and late register at the William G. White, Jr. Family YMCA located at 775 West End Boulevard, Winston Salem:
Friday, December 6: 12:00-7:30pm
Limited registrations and packet pick-up available Saturday, December 7 (race day!) 6:00am to promptly 7:00am. Pre-race packet pick-up is strongly encouraged.

Can I register on Race Day?

Registration is extremely limited on Race Day (Saturday, December 7). On the day of the event, we will hold registration inside our gym on the second floor of the YMCA from 6:00am ending promptly at 7:00am. We will not be able to register participants after that time. We don’t want to eliminate those options for people who travel to participate, but we hope locals will stop by the Y on Friday.

Where does the entry fee go?

Once we pay for our race expenses, 100% of all monies netted go back into our community to help fight childhood obesity through various programs.

What is included in the race packet?

All special offers from race sponsors and other info will be included when you pick up your bib in person. Information Sheet coming soon – with details on parking, water stops, post race party, and more.

What type of shirt is included?

We are proud to offer a long sleeve tri-blend cotton shirt. Stay tuned to see the design.

Will you have gear check?

Yes, volunteers from our presenting sponsor Bell, Davis & Pitt, Attorneys and Counselors at Law will provide complimentary gear check in the membership area of the lobby from 6:30-11:30am. Volunteers will monitor your belongings during the race in a secure area.

Should I arrive early to park?

Yes! Space in each generously-donated lot is limited, so please come prepared for a little bit of a walk. The spots closest to the start line fill up fast.

Are there bathrooms available?

Restrooms, changing, and shower facilities are available at the William G. White, Jr. Family YMCA. Port-a-Johns will also be available at the start/finish line, outside the YMCA, as well as located on the half marathon course.

Are there Water Stops on the course?

We’ve partnered with Twin City Track Club, Fleet Feet Sports, and Jones Racing Company to ensure we have adequate water stops throughout the race. Water Stops will remain open until the last participant completes the course.

Is there a Course Map?

Where is the start line?

The start line is at the intersection of Clover Street and West End Boulevard (at the official entrance to Hanes Park), about a block from the entrance to the Y.

How long will the course be open and will it be marked?

The course will be open 4 hours and will be marked.

Is there a Post Run Party?

Yes, yes, yes! Come for the Run… but stay for some FUN sponsored by YMCA Youth Development and Sports! Free for kids of all ages. Join us in the William G. White, Jr. YMCA gym for kid activities, as well as in front parking lot at YMCA by outdoor stage, for DJ Lookabill, food, and fun! Award ceremony for the 5K is at 9:15am. Half marathoners receive finisher medals at the finish line.

Are there awards?

Awards will be given out after each race. Estimated awards ceremony (being held in the front parking lot of the Y) start time for 5K is 9:00am and for the Half Marathon is 10:45am. Awards will be given to the Overall top 3 male & females of both the 5K and Half Marathon, as well as Masters awards to the top 3 male and female runners of both the 5K and Half Marathon (runners in the over 40 division). Age division awards: Fun Run – 5-6 and 7-8. 5K – 7 & under, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-30, 40-44, 45-40, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 & over. Half Marathon – 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-30, 40-44, 45-40, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 & over. No duplicate awards will be given. Sorry, we do not ship awards.


Is there Childcare?

Available for any children over 3 months of age from 7:00am to 1:00pm. Parents must pre-register if the child is under 3 years old, so please call the Welcome Center at 721-2100 ext 2062 to reserve a spot.

Will there be food available?

We are excited to offer healthy post-race fuel including fare such as water, fruit, and bagels, in addition to healthy soups this year. The Y stands for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility and we represent those values in everything we do – including the food options we offer at Y events.

Any suggestions for out of town race participants?

We are so excited you’re here. Winston-Salem has a lot to offer. Our Y is located near downtown Winston-Salem, with tons of great restaurants and other attractions. Visit the Downtown association website for more info. The Visit Winston-Salem website also has a ton of great options of stuff to do while you’re in town. Old Salem is another unique attraction in our area. When booking a hotel, you will have to drive from most locations – but anything downtown, near Old Salem or Brookstown area, or Cloverdale Shopping Center is a safe bet. We’re happy to answer specific questions if that helps.

What is the Mistletoe cancellation policy?

Refund Policy: Entries are non-refundable and cannot be transferred from person to person.
Cancellation Policy: In the event the race should be canceled for reasons beyond the control of the Race Director or Race Committee (inclement weather or unsafe weather conditions; local, state or national emergency), refunds will not be made, but race packets, including race shirts, will be available at a location to be determined.
